The Joanne Carson Endowment Fund
Hemopet proudly announces the creation of The Joanne Carson Endowment Fund, in honor of its long time friend and generous supporter of Hemopet’s non-profit Center for Greyhound Rescue and Adoption, and in memory of her beloved companion, “Lucy”.
Joanne became involved with Hemopet after her Doberman Pinscher, Pooh Bear, was diagnosed with canine epilepsy. Not one to take things lying down, Joanne started The Epi Guardian Angels website as a resource to help other pet owners dealing with similar issues. Since then, Joanne has donated generously to support Hemopet’s mission, and has raised funds for our projects through the auction of memorabilia from the personal collections of her late husband, Johnny Carson, and close friend, Truman Capote. Presently, Joanne wishes that new funding be dedicated to support the addition of veterinarian(s) of like holistic philosophy to join the Hemopet team — on a part-time basis and to assist with the growing national and international demand for our services, and thereby leave a continuing legacy for the veterinary profession.
The Richard Baker Laboratory
Hemopet announces the creation of The Richard Baker Laboratory. Richard Baker is a founding partner of Messina Baker Entertainment Group, is a Los Angeles talent management and production agency specializing in comedy entertainment. He currently co-manages the career of Tim Allen and is an Executive Producer of the ABC sitcom “Last Man Standing”. Baker has been a long term client of Hemopet’s diagnostic services for his dogs and serves on the Hemopet Board of Directors.
Baker has been a generous supporter of Hemopet’s mission over the years by donating commercial washing machines and flooring to provide the facility with optimum care for the resident Greyhounds. The present donation will support the expansion of Hemolife’s laboratory technology into automated immunoassay robotics. “We are truly grateful to Richard for this donation. The Richard Baker Laboratory will allow us to better service the growing national and international demand for Hemopet’s diagnostic services to help with the care and therapy of companion animals everywhere,” said Hemopet’s Founder and President, W. Jean Dodds, .
“We are committed to providing the highest standard of specialized diagnostic services to address the expanding demand, which we could not do without the generous support of our donors and community sponsors who believe in our mission.” said W. Jean Dodds.
